Anatomical and applied clinical scholarship.
We support anatomically and clinically based scholarship using cadaveric models, patient data and imaging, anatomical and medical education based research.
Explore the journalThe American Association of Clinical Anatomists advances knowledge of anatomy through research, education, and scholarship at the intersection of anatomical science and clinical practice — a society founded to give the discipline of Clinical Anatomy its own scholarly home.
Clinical anatomy is anatomy in all its aspects — gross, histologic, developmental, radiologic and neurologic — as applied to clinical practice. It is built on advanced anatomical constructs that optimize patient care and involves the application of anatomic principles to the solution of clinical problems, and the application of clinical observations to expand anatomic knowledge.
Our members include anatomists, clinical anatomists, surgeons, specialist physicians, anatomy educators, and researchers who share a common interest in advancing anatomy and its instruction with a commitment to rigor, collegiality, and the mentorship of the next generation of scholars.
